With the traditional hand painted kitchen we are constantly working on forcing the primer and paints into the grain of the wood which gives a great build-up of the coats of paint. In between the different coats of paint, we are constantly filling and sanding to get the best finish possible. With the older kitchens both wood and laminate we would nearly always recommend the traditional hand-painted finish, it just leaves a better finish. The beauty of the hand-painted finish it that if you were to damage the paint anywhere, you can just simply touch it up and it will be like new.
